The Samsung Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra have officially been launched at the company’s Unpacked Event. Of course, we practically knew just about everything about the smartphones thanks to the boatload of leaks. The Galaxy S20 lineup of devices, specifically the S20 Ultra was leaked in live images weeks before the launch. It seems the company’s S10e is going down as a one-off since there’s no S20e. along with the change in the naming scheme, there’s a lot more changed from the S10 lineup. and these much-needed changes also come with a hefty price tag.
Being the flagships for 2020 from Samsung, the Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 ultra have the best specifications on paper. We’ll take a look at the detailed specifications further on. However, to sum things up, you’re getting the best of everything without any major compromise on either of the devices. Moreover, Samsung’s display’s have always been a step ahead of the competition. and now with the addition of the 120Hz refresh rate, the S20 lineup crushes every existing smartphone’s display. We can also safely assume that the devices will have the best displays on any smartphone that will launch this year. Well, until Samsung launches the Galaxy note 20 or whatever they end up calling the device.
Samsung has made a few tweaks to the design of the smartphones as well. The rear camera housing is now a rectangular shape and has been moved to the left of the device. In front, the selfie camera has shrunk in diameter and is now at the center of the screen like on the Galaxy note 10. Additionally, the S20 lineup is the first S series devices from Samsung to ditch the headphone jack. Of course, we saw that coming back when the company launched the Galaxy note 10 without a headphone jack. another major design change is the curved edges of the screen are now much flatter than before. Neither of the three S20 models has a major curved screen which might be pleasing to some users.

The Samsung Galaxy S20 and the Galaxy S20+ both feature similar specifications in the camera department. Both smartphones support 3x hybrid optic zoom and 30x super Resolution Zoom. On the other hand, the pricier Galaxy S20 Ultra supports 10x hybrid optic zoom and 100x super Resolution Zoom. The South Korean giant has named the feature ‘Space Zoom’ which isn’t really what you might use the feature for.
While we hoped Samsung would completely ditch the in-house Exynos 990 in most regions, it seems that isn’t the case. Nevertheless, thanks to the new powerful chipsets, the device also supports 8K video recording at 24fps. and users can capture 33MP photos while recording 8K video. The super slow-motion video recording is still capped at 720p at 960fps.
Pricing and availability
